Dr. Karam Elahi, Director Training NIM, Prof Dr Qasim Marwat and Dr. Shabir Ahmad Khan also spoke on the occasion.

In his welcome address, Prof Dr Fakhr-ul-Islam said:

“It is a matter of immense pleasure to have with us a delegation from four brotherly Muslim countries (names of countries). I welcome them from the core of my heart. I also welcome other dignitaries to the Pakistan Study Centre.

I think I need not to emphasize the fact that the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has so many similarities with Central Asian states. These include religious, cultural, economic, historical and identical views on international issues. Both Pakistan and these states occupy very important geostrategic locations. The Central Asian States are rich in natural resources. Frankly speaking, both sides could not benefit from mutual commonalities and opportunities so far, due to one reason or the other.

At this point and time when the World has turned into a global village and regional connectivity has become all the more important, Pakistan and Central Asian States need to work towards renewed relationships in various sectors. I hope that with the visit of this delegation, we will be able to move towards the goal of enhanced friendship, trade, commerce and cultural  activities.”
